    The new tree (CVS module: Epiar) has been coming along nicely for the past few months and when we get it to a nice demoable state, we intend to make a release. In the meantime, here are some things to look forward to in that release:


  • OpenGL graphics

    • Large, full-screen planets

    • Fast, 60 fps explosions

    • Beautiful anti-aliased ships and starfield

    • Extremely low CPU usage



  • Development Tools

    • Graphical WinZip-like EAF archive editor

    • Graphical galaxy editor with point and click planet editing



  • GNU autotools-based build systems

    • No more Makefile.mingw, Makefile.freebsd

    • Builds without any edits on Linux, BSD, Darwin, Mingw



  • Binary installable packages for Windows and Linux
