    No, I'm not working on engine flares, but that's a neat idea. Here's an update on how devel is going:

1) I moved my source directory so now it takes a really long time to do CVS commits. I cry regularly about this.

2) Adam's HUD has bugs but is already better than the last HUD, both graphically and in how it displays information.

3) I worked a little bit on the new UI, and there's plenty left to do, but I can't wait until, in a few weeks, Bitstream is releasing some high quality TTF fonts under an open source license, so we'll nab 'em and the UI will look much better.

4) Asteroids are in CVS! They're ... almost complete. Some of the generation doesn't seem random, but it's practically done.

We also experimented with .... *looks around to make sure nobody's listening* ... networking! We aren't actively developing it yet, but our client was spitting out world coordinates a few miles away! :-)
