IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is an old but simple format for text chatting on the Internet. It is widely used among the open source community, and is the primary method for real-time communication amongst Epiar developers.

You need an IRC client to chat on an IRC server. There are many decent, free IRC clients available for most platforms. If you're new to IRC, try the following clients: SilverX (Windows), X-Chat (Linux, FreeBSD, X Windows/GTK+ Unix) and Colloquy (Mac OS X).

With your IRC client, connect to irc.freenode.net and join channel #epiar.

Note that the channel is publicly logged. Logs are available at epiar.net/irclogs.
